A move within Europe is usually faster and simpler than an overseas move: to the mainland we transport your goods by direct truck or cost-saving part-load, to islands by sea freight. Within the EU goods move freely – no customs formalities; for countries such as Switzerland, Norway or the UK we handle the required customs declaration.

Frequently asked questions
Is there customs on a move within Europe?
Within the EU the free movement of goods applies – there are no customs duties on your household goods and no customs clearance is required (e.g. France, Austria, Scandinavia). It is different for countries outside the EU customs territory such as Switzerland and Great Britain: here a customs declaration is required. We handle the necessary documents and the entire process for you.
How long does a move within Europe take?
On most European routes your household goods arrive at the destination by truck within a few days. For part-loads or more distant destinations (e.g. Scandinavia, islands), a few extra days may be needed depending on the route and departure schedules. We state the exact timeframe in our quote.
Can I transport only part of my belongings (part-load)?
Yes. With a part-load you share the loading space with other shipments and pay only for your share – the most economical option if you are somewhat flexible on timing. This is ideal especially for single items or smaller moves within Europe.
Are my goods insured on the way to another European country?
Yes. Every transport is covered by the statutory carrier liability. For international removals we additionally recommend extended transport insurance at replacement value, which we arrange for you on request.
Do you also help with registration and official errands at the destination?
Yes. With our relocation service we support you with finding accommodation, registration, bank account, insurance as well as electricity and internet – depending on the destination country and, on request, including on-site assistance.
What does a move within Europe cost?
The cost depends on the volume, the distance and destination region, the transport method (direct truck or part-load) and the services you require. Flat-rate guide prices are not very meaningful for international removals – after a short inventory you therefore receive a binding fixed-price quote with no hidden costs.
